Cavorite Venus 1.1 - Ishtar

Description

Part 1 of 8 continents and islands of Cavorite Venus in 1930.

Part 2 (Nogah and Isis, the South Polar continents) [link]

Again the essential premise is Venus as a jungle world with a breathable atmosphere layered over a thick poisonous one (for non-Venusian life). Otherwise the physical properties are much the same, esepcially the 116 earth day day/night cycle (Though Ishtar is in 'cool' polar twilight most of the time anyway).

1 pixel is approximately 5 km, all the maps in this series will be at the same scale (though Ishtar is the only one that needs too maps for annotations). I originally was going to do it all at once but 13000x5000 images broke my processors back.

An extra note on the Ishtar map that I probably should have included (and will be in later venus maps), the total area inside the purple 'always' livable lines is roughly 11 million square kilometres, comparable with the total size of Europe (10.2 million square kilometres) or Canada (9.9 million square kilometres).

The 'high value area' of high altitude and constant twilight is about 1.2 million square kilometres, about the size of the country of Angola, or twice the size of Madegascar.
